Hacienda Bar & Grill is an older and more established Mexican restaurant located at the Lakeland Shopping Center at the intersection of HWY 400 (Exit 14 South) and Highway 20 in Cumming, Georgia.
Juan's Review:
The magic is gone from this once reasonably consistent restaurant. Like so many Mexican restaurants in the Cumming and Forsyth County area in the late nineties to 2010, top notch service and food had to be sacrificed to stave off competing Mexican restaurants and the detrimental impact inflation has had on every business.
Now the food is subpar. If you’re lucky the seating areas are merely unclean; they are downright disgusting if you’re not. The drinks are highly inconsistent.
The top shelf margaritas were once an irresistible draw to Hacienda Bar & Grill; this is no longer the case. Now, each top shelf margarita must be ordered in person to the head bartender because if you go through the staff at a table or booth, a standard margarita in a top shelf glass will arrive. This technique probably goes unnoticed by most guests looped from the first glass, but it is very disheartening to those who are there strictly for the top shelf margarita taste.
All I require from a Mexican restaurant with decent food, consistent margaritas as ordered, and I’m satisfied. Now toss in some live music and I’m content. Unfortunately, the national chains who enjoy the benefits of buying in bulk and have mastered cutting corners make it difficult for the local Mexican place to survive.

- Clean the seating areas better between guests, especially those with kids.
- Increase prices over decreasing quality to cope with inflation.
- Never assume a guest won’t recognize a cheaper margarita just because he has had a few.
